Nicole Melaku is the Executive Director of the Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition (CIRC) and its sister C4 organization, CIRC Action Fund. Nicole has worked as an immigrant rights advocate for nearly 10 years, and has a wide breadth of non-profit and philanthropy career experience spanning from program development to leading successful electoral campaigns.
Ms. Melaku worked as the Director of Programs for the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado where she directed grant-making, the Colorado Immigrant Funders Collaborative and led the exciting relaunch of the local LATINAS LEAD initiative. As the Executive Director of CIRC, Nicole works to advance the work of building a welcoming and just Colorado through policy, advocacy, and non-partisan civic engagement.
In 2018, Nicole successfully grew CIRC/CIRC Action’s electoral program to engage over 86,000 Latinx and New American voters in congressional and state legislative seat campaigns. She serves on the Executive Committee of the Fair Immigration Reform Movement(FIRM), a project of Community Change and is a Board member of the National Partnership for New Americans and Conservation Colorado. She is a 2018 HIP Líderes fellow.
